Kirsten Diesler Dipl.-Kffr. Lic.Ac. MBAcC
I trained for three years at the School of Five Element Acupuncture (SOFEA) in London under the guidance of Nora Franglen, who learned the tradition directly from JR Worsley. As a qualification I obtained a Licenciate in Acupuncture (Lic.Ac.), which is recognised by the British Acupuncture council and makes me a member there of (MBAcC).
After graduation initially I worked in private practice in London. I moved to Tunbridge Wells in the autumn of 2006 and started my practice here in the spring of 2007.
Since graduating I have attended seminars, workshops and one-on-one trainings with Nora Franglen to hone my skills as a general practitioner, but also to gain additional knowledge in my two special expertise areas of fertility and pregnancy as well as facial rejuvenation acupuncture.
Specifically, I have been invited to become a founding member of the Zita West Network for Reproductive Health.
I am a practitioner participant in the CACTUS study, which researches the effects of Classical Five Element Acupuncture treatment on patients with medically unexplained physical symptoms in a primary care setting. The study is funded by the King's Fund and carried out by the Kite Clinic together with the Peninsula Medical School – University of Exeter ( www.cactus-study.co.uk ).
In September 2008 I have started a one year postgraduate Classical Five Element Acupuncture Excellence Programme at the London Institute of Five Element Acupuncture (LIFEA) in association with the Kite clinic, London ( www.kiteclinic.co.uk ).
Before becoming an acupuncturist, I worked as an Investment Banker in London and Frankfurt for many years. A traumatic car accident in 2000 led me to come in contact with Five Element Acupuncture. The tremendous impact that this form of medicine had in my recovery on a physical and emotional level after the accident, inspired me to change career and to follow the acupuncture path so that I could help others in the same transforming way.
